Third night and the children slept through without waking us up. They got up around 10.30 am! I, on the other hand had trouble sleeping and stayed awake for a couple of hours during the night. We’re getting there!<\/p>\n
C\u2019est notre troisi\u00e8me nuit \u00e0 Hong Kong et les enfants ont dormi sans nous r\u00e9veiller. Ils se sont lev\u00e9s vers 10h30 ! Par contre, j’avais du mal \u00e0 dormir et je suis rest\u00e9e \u00e9veill\u00e9 quelques heures pendant la nuit.<\/em><\/p>\n I went back to the bank to try and get internet banking working. A lady told me I just needed to go on the internet and everything was explained. I did what she said and realised I needed a pin that I didn’t have. So I will have to go back tomorrow. Again …<\/p>\n Je suis retourn\u00e9e \u00e0 la banque pour essayer de faire fonctionner la banque par internet. Une dame m’a dit que j’avais juste besoin d’aller sur internet et que tout \u00e9tait expliqu\u00e9. J’ai fait ce qu’elle a dit et r\u00e9alis\u00e9 que j’avais besoin d\u2019un code pour m\u2019enregistrer. Il faudra donc que j\u2019y retourne demain…<\/em><\/p>\n At one point, Emilie was getting bored, so I showed her her mental arithmetic book. She was enthusiastic and started a new page. A few minutes later, Alex came along and asked to do the opposite page. A few minutes of bliss. And then Emilie lost interest \ud83d\ude41 Alex finished his page and wanted to finish hers as well. But still, it worked for a bit!<\/p>\n Emilie commen\u00e7ait \u00e0 s’ennuyer, alors je lui ai montr\u00e9 son livre d’arithm\u00e9tique mentale. Elle \u00e9tait enthousiaste et a commenc\u00e9 une nouvelle page. Quelques minutes plus tard, Alex est venu et a demand\u00e9 \u00e0 faire la page oppos\u00e9e. Quelques minutes de bonheur. Et puis Emilie a perdu tout int\u00e9r\u00eat \ud83d\ude41 Alex a termin\u00e9 sa page et voulait aussi finir celle d\u2019Emilie.<\/em><\/p>\n In the afternoon, we decided to go to Alex’s school to see how he can get there in September and see what it looks like. So I checked on Google Maps what the best itinerary was. They advised to take a bus # 5 not far from where we lived. So we went. But there was no bus stop indicating bus # 5. After waiting for 10 minutes, I decided to walk there. Thank god, Alex asked to buy a bottle of water. It was very hot and very sunny. Google Maps said we had to walk 23 minutes. It took us 1 hour to get there. The road is steep and most of it was under an unforgivable sun. We eventually arrived in front of the school and had a good look around. After that, we just wanted to go back home as soon as possible. We all had enough of this. So we went to the main road. Once again, we found the bus stop but there was no indication for bus # 5. After looking around, walking along the road and getting very frustrated and hot, Alex asked the shop nearest to the bus stop. They explained to us that the bus # 5 was a minibus. We just needed to hail it. There was no stop for it. After another 10 minutes wait, we saw the minibus and hopped in. Thankfully, we were seating in a bus, getting us fast back home.<\/p>\n Dans l’apr\u00e8s-midi, nous avons d\u00e9cid\u00e9 d’aller \u00e0 l’\u00e9cole d’Alex pour voir comment il pourrait s’y rendre en septembre et voir \u00e0 quoi elle ressemble. J’ai donc regard\u00e9 sur Google Maps quel \u00e9tait le meilleur itin\u00e9raire. Il conseillait de prendre un bus n \u00b0 5 non loin de chez nous. Nous voil\u00e0 en route. Mais il n’y avait pas d’arr\u00eat de bus indiquant le bus n \u00b0 5. Apr\u00e8s avoir attendu 10 minutes, j’ai d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de marcher l\u00e0-bas. Dieu merci, Alex a demand\u00e9 \u00e0 acheter une bouteille d’eau. Il faisait tr\u00e8s chaud et tr\u00e8s ensoleill\u00e9. Google Maps disait qu\u2019il fallait 23 minutes de marche pour y arriver. \u00c7a nous a pris 1 heure. La route est raide et la presque tout le chemin \u00e9taient sous un soleil \u00e9crasant. Nous sommes finalement arriv\u00e9s devant l’\u00e9cole et avons jet\u00e9 un coup d’\u0153il autour de nous. Apr\u00e8s cela, nous voulions juste rentrer le plus rapidement possible. Nous en avions tous assez. Nous sommes donc all\u00e9s sur la route principale. Une fois de plus, nous avons trouv\u00e9 l\u2019arr\u00eat de bus, mais il n\u2019y avait aucune indication pour le bus n \u00b0 5. Apr\u00e8s avoir regard\u00e9 autour, marcher le long de la route et \u00eatre tr\u00e8s agac\u00e9s et avoir tr\u00e8s chaud, Alex a demand\u00e9 au magasin le plus proche de l\u2019arr\u00eat de bus. On nous a expliqu\u00e9 que le bus n \u00b0 5 \u00e9tait un minibus. Il fallait juste besoin de lui faire signe. Il n’y avait pas d’arr\u00eat sp\u00e9cifiques. Apr\u00e8s 10 minutes d’attente, nous avons vu le minibus et avons saut\u00e9 dedans. Heureusement, nous \u00e9tions assis dans un bus nous ramenant rapidement \u00e0 la maison.<\/em><\/p>\n This day was very disheartening for me. I had the feeling everything I tried failed, that I just didn’t understand anything. I felt really low. I had no money or almost none left, I didn’t understand the basic things at the bank or for the buses. The 2 good things were that I had my sister and mum on the phone. So at least, I could express how lost I was and I felt better afterward.<\/p>\n Cette journ\u00e9e a \u00e9t\u00e9 tr\u00e8s d\u00e9courageante pour moi. J\u2019ai eu l’impression que tout ce que j\u2019entreprenais \u00e9chouait, que je ne comprenais rien \u00e0 rien. Je n’avais presque plus d\u2019argent, je ne comprenais pas les choses de base \u00e0 la banque ou pour les bus. Heureusement, j\u2019ai eu ma s\u0153ur et ma m\u00e8re au t\u00e9l\u00e9phone.
