That was the last week of holiday so we had to make the most of it!<\/p>\n

C’\u00e9tait la derni\u00e8re semaine de vacances, nous avons essay\u00e9 d\u2019en profiter ! <\/em><\/p>\n

Monday, we went to Alex’s school. The purpose was for Alex to know where to go when he will start school. Alex guided us to the bus stop, and up to the school. After that, we went back home. In the afternoon, we went to a different part of Central: we went to the French bookshop Parentheses to get a few books and we walked a bit around Hollywood road in SoHo.<\/p>\n

Lundi, nous sommes all\u00e9s \u00e0 l’\u00e9cole d’Alex. Le but \u00e9tait qu\u2019Alex sache comment y aller \u00e0 partir de la rentr\u00e9e. Alex nous a guid\u00e9s jusqu’\u00e0 l’arr\u00eat de bus et ensuite jusqu’\u00e0 l’\u00e9cole. Apr\u00e8s cela, nous sommes rentr\u00e9s \u00e0 la maison. Dans l’apr\u00e8s-midi, nous sommes all\u00e9s dans une autre partie de Central, \u00e0 la librairie fran\u00e7aise Parentheses pour acheter quelques livres. Nous avons ensuite march\u00e9 un peu autour de la route d’Hollywood \u00e0 SoHo. <\/em><\/p>\n

Tuesday, the weather was terrible and I was in a very bad mood. We had to get Alex’s Hong Kong identity card and after that, we just stayed at home and watched a movie (Grown-ups). That was not too bad in the end. Sebastien even thought that the kids were nicer since I arrived.<\/p>\n

Mardi, le temps \u00e9tait horrible et j’\u00e9tais de tr\u00e8s mauvaise humeur. Nous sommes all\u00e9s chercher la carte d’identit\u00e9 d\u2019Hong Kong d’Alex et ensuite, nous sommes rest\u00e9s \u00e0 la maison et avons regard\u00e9 un film (Grown-ups). Ce n’\u00e9tait pas une si mauvaise journ\u00e9e en fin de compte. S\u00e9bastien m\u2019a m\u00eame dit qu\u2019il pensait que les enfants \u00e9taient plus sympas depuis mon arriv\u00e9e. <\/em><\/p>\n

Wednesday, it was still raining and the pool was closed again. We just went for a hot chocolate in the afternoon. Just for the sake of going out for an hour. In the afternoon, Alex and Emilie started a game of Warhammer. Emilie got Alex’s new army and Alex got the Lego army. It took a long time to prepare, but they didn’t play very long.<\/p>\n

Mercredi, il pleuvait encore et la piscine \u00e9tait encore ferm\u00e9e. Nous sommes juste all\u00e9s prendre un chocolat chaud dans l’apr\u00e8s-midi, histoire de sortir une heure. Dans l’apr\u00e8s-midi, Alex et Emilie ont commenc\u00e9 une partie de Warhammer. Emilie a eu la nouvelle arm\u00e9e d’Alex et Alex a eu l’arm\u00e9e Lego. Cela a pris beaucoup de temps \u00e0 pr\u00e9parer, mais ils n’ont pas jou\u00e9 tr\u00e8s longtemps. <\/em><\/p>\n

Thursday, Sebastien was on holiday. Emilie insisted that he went with her to her school for the welcome morning. Alex and I stayed lazily at home. In the afternoon we left to go to Macau. I finally received my visa and I needed it to be stamped by the Hong Kong custom. So I needed to go out of the country and back again. The easiest way is to go to Macau. We left in the afternoon and took a ferry there. The crossing takes an hour. It was horrible. I was feeling sick and a passenger was in a very bad shape a few rows in front of us. She wasn’t sea-sick, but she fainted. The paramedics were waiting for her on arrival. we were all slightly green when we arrived and glad to be back on firm land. we found our hotel’s shuttle quite easily. Our hotel was in Coloane, an island south of Macau. We crossed a bridge to go there and we passed through “The City of Dreams”, which is the Las Vegas of Asia. We didn’t do much in the hotel. Just a bit of swimming pool. The weather was not great either and we were tired. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant. Alex was a bit sick again, poor kid.<\/p>\n

Jeudi, S\u00e9bastien \u00e9tait en vacances. Emilie a insist\u00e9 pour qu’il l’accompagne \u00e0 son \u00e9cole pour la matin\u00e9e d’accueil. Alex et moi sommes rest\u00e9s tranquillement \u00e0 la maison. Dans l’apr\u00e8s-midi, nous sommes partis pour Macao. J’ai finalement re\u00e7u mon visa et il faut que celui-ci soit tamponn\u00e9 par la douane de Hong Kong. Il me fallait donc sortir du pays et revenir. Le plus simple est d’aller \u00e0 Macao. Nous sommes partis dans l’apr\u00e8s-midi en ferry. La travers\u00e9e dure une heure. C’\u00e9tait horrible. J\u2019ai eu le mal de mer. Une passag\u00e8re \u00e0 quelques rangs devant nous \u00e9tait vraiment mal. Elle n’avait pas le mal de mer, mais elle s’est \u00e9vanouie. Les ambulanciers l’attendaient \u00e0 notre arriv\u00e9e. Nous \u00e9tions bien contents de retrouver le plancher des vaches ! Nous avons pris la navette de l\u2019h\u00f4tel pour aller \u00e0 Coloane, une \u00eele au sud de Macao. Nous avons travers\u00e9 “the City of Dreams”, qui est le comme Las Vegas en Asie. Nous n’avons pas fait grand-chose \u00e0 l’h\u00f4tel. Juste un peu de piscine. Le temps n’\u00e9tait pas terrible non plus et nous \u00e9tions fatigu\u00e9s. Nous avons d\u00een\u00e9 au restaurant de l’h\u00f4tel. Alex a encore \u00e9t\u00e9 allergique \u00e0 quelque chose, pauvre gamin.<\/em><\/p>\n

Friday morning, we packed and we went to the Giant Pandas’ Pavilion. The pavilion is in a park and there are a few other animals around. There are a couple of adult pandas who are 10 and 11 years old. They had cubs in June 2006. The “small” pandas (i.e. the 2 year old) are already very big but they are still not as big as adults. Their teeth are very sharp. Thank god, they only eat bamboo! We came back home in the afternoon. The trip back was way more enjoyable and noone was sick!<\/p>\n

Vendredi matin, nous avons fait nos valises et nous sommes all\u00e9s au pavillon des pandas g\u00e9ants. Le pavillon est dans un parc et il y a quelques autres animaux autour. Il y a un couple de pandas adultes qui ont 10 et 11 ans. Ils ont eu des petits en juin 2006. Les \u00abpetits\u00bb pandas (qui ont 2 ans) sont d\u00e9j\u00e0 tr\u00e8s gros mais ils ne sont toujours pas aussi gros que les adultes. Leurs dents sont tr\u00e8s pointues. Heureusement qu\u2019ils ne mangent que du bambou ! Nous sommes rentr\u00e9s chez nous dans l’apr\u00e8s-midi. Le retour a \u00e9t\u00e9 bien plus agr\u00e9able et personne n’a \u00e9t\u00e9 malade !<\/em><\/p>\n

Saturday, it was Alex’s turn to visit his school and meet some of the new starters. It was reassuring for me too! We walked back home under the rain so we only played cards in the afternoon. In the evening, Sebastien and I went for a drink in the St Germain bar downstairs. Very French!<\/p>\n

Samedi, c’\u00e9tait au tour d’Alex d\u2019aller \u00e0 son coll\u00e8ge en avant-premi\u00e8re et de rencontrer quelques-uns des nouveaux \u00e9l\u00e8ves. C’\u00e9tait rassurant pour moi aussi ! Nous sommes rentr\u00e9s \u00e0 la maison sous la pluie, du coup, nous n\u2019avons fait que jouer aux cartes dans l\u2019apr\u00e8s-midi. Dans la soir\u00e9e, S\u00e9bastien et moi sommes all\u00e9s boire un verre au bar St Germain en bas. Tr\u00e8s fran\u00e7ais ! <\/em><\/p>\n

Sunday, we went to the Victoria Peak. It was completely in the clouds and the pictures are eerie. The clouds lifted while we were there so we could see the amazing views. In the afternoon, after the regular cards games and reading Harry Potter, Sebastien and I went for a stroll in Times Squares shopping centre. It’s always a treat to be able to go out just the two of us.<\/p>\n

Dimanche, nous sommes all\u00e9s au Victoria Peak. Il \u00e9tait compl\u00e8tement dans les nuages et les photos sont sp\u00e9ciales. La brume s\u2019est lev\u00e9e pendant que nous y \u00e9tions r\u00e9v\u00e9lant les vues spectaculaires de la ville. Dans l’apr\u00e8s-midi, apr\u00e8s les jeux de cartes et la lecture d\u2019Harry Potter, S\u00e9bastien et moi sommes all\u00e9s nous promener dans le centre commercial de Times Squares. C’est toujours un plaisir de pouvoir sortir tous les deux. <\/em><\/p>\n

In the evening, a gigantic moth got stuck on our window (we are at the 23rd floor). Very impressive!<\/p>\n

Dans la soir\u00e9e, un gigantesque papillon de nuit s\u2019est coll\u00e9 \u00e0 notre fen\u00eatre (nous sommes au 23\u00e8me \u00e9tage). Tr\u00e8s impressionnant !<\/em><\/p>\n
