I am fed up of all this. Be prepared for a big rant, I need to unload.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-right wp-block-paragraph\"><em><span class=\"has-inline-color has-secondary-color\">Peur, parano\u00efa, rumeurs. J&#8217;en ai ras-le-bol. C\u2019est mon coup de gueule, j&#8217;ai besoin de m\u2019exprimer.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This has been growing and growing and we reached saturation over the weekend. What happened is that there was a positive case in a gym club in Central and they have contaminated a few people in the expat community. A few teachers from international schools have also been tested positive. Parents paranoia spiralling without control.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-right wp-block-paragraph\"><em><span class=\"has-inline-color has-tertiary-color\">\u00c7a monte, \u00e7a monte depuis des semaines et nous avons atteint le paroxysme ce week-end. Il y a eu un cas positif dans un club de gym de Central et du coup quelques personnes dans la communaut\u00e9 des expatri\u00e9s se sont retrouv\u00e9es positifs. Quelques enseignants d&#8217;\u00e9coles internationales ont \u00e9galement \u00e9t\u00e9 test\u00e9s positifs. La parano\u00efa des parents a mont\u00e9 en fl\u00e8ch<\/span>e.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This has been a crazy weekend. A few facts:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>When there is a positive case, the government agency investigates where the person has been and asks everyone who may have been in contact to get tested. All negative close contacts are sent in quarantine camp for fourteen days.<\/li><li>Quarantine camp is no fun: kept in isolation with the bare minimum. If you&#8217;re lucky, you&#8217;ve got internet.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-right wp-block-paragraph\"><em><span class=\"has-inline-color has-tertiary-color\">Cela a \u00e9t\u00e9 un week-end compl\u00e8tement dingue. D\u00e9tails importants \u00e0 conna\u00eetre :<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><em><span class=\"has-inline-color has-tertiary-color\">Lorsqu&#8217;il y a un cas positif, l&#8217;agence gouvernementale enqu\u00eate sur l&#8217;endroit o\u00f9 la personne s&#8217;est rendue et demande \u00e0 tous ceux qui ont pu \u00eatre en contact de se faire d\u00e9pister. Tous les proches contacts qui se trouvent n\u00e9gatifs sont envoy\u00e9s en camp de quarantaine pendant quatorze jours.<\/span><\/em><\/li><li><em><span class=\"has-inline-color has-tertiary-color\">Le camp de quarantaine n\u2019a rien de dr\u00f4le : maintenu en isolement avec le strict minimum. Si vous avez de la chance, vous avez Internet.<\/span><\/em><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Questions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>How do you define close contact? Excellent question! It should be someone who has been next to the positive case for a certain amount of time (I think 15 minutes + but not sure) and without mask. But apparently, there&#8217;s a level of interpretation and close contacts are not the same for every situation. For example, in school, all children of a class are close contact if the teacher is positive. Even if they are wearing masks and are more than 1.5 m away from the teacher.<\/li><li>What happen to children? Another excellent question! And the answer is also very interesting: they are treated the same way as adults, i.e. sent to quarantine camps alone for 14 days or in hospital if they are positive. The government representant may allow 1 parent to go with them.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-right wp-block-paragraph\"><em><span class=\"has-inline-color has-tertiary-color\">Questions :<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><em><span class=\"has-inline-color has-tertiary-color\">Comment est d\u00e9fini le proche contact ? Excellente question ! En principe, c\u2019est quelqu&#8217;un qui a \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e0 c\u00f4t\u00e9 du cas positif pendant un certain temps (je pense 15 minutes ou + mais je ne suis pas s\u00fbre) et sans masque. Mais apparemment, il y a un niveau d&#8217;interpr\u00e9tation et les proches contacts ne sont pas les m\u00eames dans chaque situation. Par exemple, \u00e0 l&#8217;\u00e9cole, tous les enfants d&#8217;une classe sont consid\u00e9r\u00e9s proches contacts de l&#8217;enseignant s\u2019il est positif. M\u00eame s&#8217;ils portent des masques et se trouvent \u00e0 plus de 1,5 m de l&#8217;enseignant.<\/span><\/em><\/li><li><em><span class=\"has-inline-color has-tertiary-color\">Qu&#8217;arrive-t-il aux enfants ? Encore une excellente question ! Et la r\u00e9ponse est \u00e9galement tr\u00e8s int\u00e9ressante : ils sont trait\u00e9s de la m\u00eame mani\u00e8re que les adultes, c&#8217;est-\u00e0-dire envoy\u00e9s seuls dans des camps de quarantaine pendant 14 jours s\u2019ils sont n\u00e9gatifs ou \u00e0 l&#8217;h\u00f4pital s&#8217;ils sont positifs. Le repr\u00e9sentant du gouvernement peut autoriser 1 parent \u00e0 les accompagner, mais ce n\u2019est pas une obligation.<\/span><\/em><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So imagine that. One positive test on one of our children campuses. Everybody freaked. I&#8217;ve heard so many horrible things: &#8220;They&#8217;re positive because they didn&#8217;t follow the rules&#8221;, &#8220;School is not safe&#8221;, &#8220;If we don&#8217;t wear a mask, we&#8217;ll die&#8221;. These are just examples.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-right wp-block-paragraph\"><em><span class=\"has-inline-color has-tertiary-color\">Alors imaginez \u00e7a. Un test positif sur l&#8217;un de nos campus pour enfants. Tout le monde a paniqu\u00e9. J\u2019ai entendu tant de choses horribles : \u00abIls sont positifs parce qu\u2019ils n\u2019ont pas respect\u00e9 les r\u00e8gles\u00bb, \u00abL\u2019\u00e9cole n\u2019est pas s\u00fbre\u00bb, \u00abSi nous ne portons pas de masque, nous mourrons\u00bb. Et ce ne sont que des exemples.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Let me get this straight: We&#8217;re all going to die. Being sick is part of life. We are very lucky to live in this day and age where we have medecine, vaccines, better hygiene and better life conditions. But we are human and mortals. I don&#8217;t want to die, I don&#8217;t want anyone to die. But I can&#8217;t ignore the fact that this is going to happen, whether it is covid or something else.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-right wp-block-paragraph\"><em><span class=\"has-inline-color has-tertiary-color\">Disons les choses clairement : nous allons tous mourir. \u00catre malade fait partie de la vie. Nous avons beaucoup de chance de vivre \u00e0 cette \u00e9poque o\u00f9 il y a des m\u00e9dicaments, des vaccins, une meilleure hygi\u00e8ne et de meilleures conditions de vie. Je ne veux pas mourir. Je veux que personne ne meure. Mais soyons r<em>\u00e9<\/em>alistes ! <em>\u00e7a<\/em> arrivera, que ce soit <em>\u00e0<\/em> cause du covid ou d&#8217;autre chose.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I just wanted to give my opinion once and for all:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Covid is a serious disease, but it is not as contagious as that and it is not as serious as news let us believe. Do you see young healthy people drop dead because of covid? No. Why? Because it hurts primarily the old and sick. So let&#8217;s protect them better and let the other get on with life! Why do we stop living the way we did? Mostly not to saturate health systems with covid patients. Then build special units and train people specifically for pandemic situations! We have a reserve army, why not have a reserve pandemic specialist unit and equipment? Expensive? Certainly! But how expensive all this last year has been?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-right wp-block-paragraph\"><em><span class=\"has-inline-color has-tertiary-color\">Je voulais juste donner mon avis une fois pour toutes :<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-right wp-block-paragraph\"><em><span class=\"has-inline-color has-tertiary-color\">Covid est une maladie grave, ok. Mais est-ce si contagieux que ca ? Il y a des tas d\u2019exemples de personnes malades entour\u00e9es de personnes saines de la m\u00eame maisonn\u00e9e. Les statistiques nous donnent des quantit\u00e9s de malades, mais pas la gravit\u00e9. Est-ce que vous voyez des jeunes gens en bonne sant\u00e9 tomber morts \u00e0 cause du covid ? Non pourquoi ? Parce que cette maladie s\u2019attaque surtout aux vieux et aux malades. Alors prot\u00e9geons-les mieux et laissons les autres vivre ! Pourquoi avons-nous des confinements ? Pour ne pas saturer les syst\u00e8mes de sant\u00e9 avec des patients covid\u00e9s. Et bien, construisons des unit\u00e9s sp\u00e9ciales et formons des personnes sp\u00e9cifiquement pour les situations de pand\u00e9mie ! Nous avons bien une arm\u00e9e de r\u00e9serve, pourquoi ne pas avoir une unit\u00e9 de r\u00e9serve et du mat\u00e9riel sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9s en pand\u00e9mie ? Co\u00fbteux ? Certainement ! Mais combien a co\u00fbt\u00e9 l&#8217;ann\u00e9e derni\u00e8re ?<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I might get arrested for what I am going to say next. Hong Kong government lacks humanity and common sense. The decisions are based on numbers and completely ignore the human beings who are living here. What is very frustrating is that you know there&#8217;s nothing you can do. The government doesn&#8217;t budge. And you have people following blindly. Examples:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Keeping the school closed when bars are reopening &#8211; <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">reason<\/span>: keep the children safe &#8211; <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">argument<\/span>: kids are not affected as badly as adults + they follow the safety protocol better + they suffer more from the lack of school<\/li><li>3 weeks hotel quarantine &#8211; <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">reason<\/span>: to make sure travellers are not going to contaminate the population &#8211; <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">argument<\/span>: why 3 weeks when 2 weeks would be enough + why being kept in an hotel without fresh air when the virus is more virulent \/ transmissible inside than outside<\/li><li>Keep people indoor as much as possible &#8211; <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">reason<\/span>: to keep us safe and stop contamination &#8211; <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">argument<\/span>: vitamin D deficiency is linked to covid spread, so better be outside in the sun + covid survives longer indoor than outdoor, so let&#8217;s go outside + to stay healthy, we need to move, to get outside, and if our health is better, there&#8217;s a better chance our bodies can fight the virus<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-right wp-block-paragraph\"><em><span class=\"has-inline-color has-tertiary-color\">Je pourrais me faire arr\u00eater pour ce que je vais dire ensuite. Le gouvernement de Hong Kong manque d&#8217;humanit\u00e9 et de bon sens. Leurs d\u00e9cisions sont bas\u00e9es sur des chiffres et ignorent compl\u00e8tement les \u00eatres humains qui vivent ici. Et le plus frustrant, c\u2019est qu\u2019on ne peut rien y changer. Le gouvernement ne bouge pas. Et en plus, il y a des gens qui le suivent aveugl\u00e9ment. Exemples :<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><em><span class=\"has-inline-color has-tertiary-color\">Garder l&#8217;\u00e9cole ferm\u00e9e alors que les bars rouvrent &#8211; <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">raison<\/span>: prot\u00e9ger les enfants &#8211; <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">argument<\/span>: les enfants ne sont pas aussi affect\u00e9s que les adultes + ils suivent mieux les protocoles de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 + ils souffrent davantage du manque d&#8217;\u00e9cole<\/span><\/em><\/li><li><em><span class=\"has-inline-color has-tertiary-color\">3 semaines de quarantaine \u00e0 l\u2019h\u00f4tel &#8211; <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">raison<\/span>: pour s&#8217;assurer que les voyageurs ne vont pas contaminer la population &#8211; <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">argument<\/span>: pourquoi 3 semaines alors que 2 semaines suffiraient + pourquoi \u00eatre gard\u00e9 dans un h\u00f4tel sans air frais alors que le virus est plus virulent \/ transmissible \u00e0 l&#8217;int\u00e9rieur qu\u2019\u00e0 l&#8217;ext\u00e9rieur<\/span><\/em><\/li><li><em><span class=\"has-inline-color has-tertiary-color\">Garder les gens \u00e0 l&#8217;int\u00e9rieur autant que possible &#8211; <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">raison<\/span>: pour nous prot\u00e9ger et arr\u00eater la contamination &#8211; <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">argument<\/span>: la carence en vitamine D est li\u00e9e \u00e0 la propagation du covid, il vaudrait donc mieux \u00eatre \u00e0 l&#8217;ext\u00e9rieur au soleil + le covid survit plus longtemps \u00e0 l&#8217;int\u00e9rieur qu&#8217;\u00e0 l&#8217;ext\u00e9rieur, alors allons \u00e0 l&#8217;ext\u00e9rieur + pour rester en bonne sant\u00e9, nous devons bouger, sortir, et si notre sant\u00e9 est meilleure, il y a de meilleures chances que notre corps puisse combattre le virus<\/span><\/em><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One last thing I wanted to say:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>IGNORANCE IS BLISS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-right wp-block-paragraph\"><em><span class=\"has-inline-color has-tertiary-color\">Une derni\u00e8re chose que je voulais dire :<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-right wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><span class=\"has-inline-color has-tertiary-color\">L&#8217;IGNORANCE, C\u2018EST LE BONHEUR<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Think about it. Think about all the information you receive. All the bullshit that you&#8217;re being fed through news and social media. All this contribute to being stressed and feeling doomed. Most of it is just unfounded rumours. In our day and age, where information is everywhere, the most difficult thing to find is analysis, information backed by facts and reflection on what these mean.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So better off not knowing, rather than living in fear. What&#8217;s the worse that can happen? That all these are true? Well, is there anything I can do? NO!!! So I live happy in my little bubble \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-right wp-block-paragraph\"><em><span class=\"has-inline-color has-tertiary-color\">Pensez-y. Pensez \u00e0 toutes les informations que vous recevez. Toutes les conneries que les actualit\u00e9s et les r\u00e9seaux sociaux vous nourrissent tous les jours. Tout cela contribue \u00e0 \u00eatre stress\u00e9 et \u00e0 avoir ce sentiment que tout est foutu. Mais la plupart sont des rumeurs non fond\u00e9es. \u00c0 notre \u00e9poque, o\u00f9 l&#8217;information est partout, la chose la plus difficile \u00e0 trouver est la r\u00e9flexion, l&#8217;information \u00e9tay\u00e9e par des faits et l\u2019analyse qui s\u2019en suit.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-right wp-block-paragraph\"><em><span class=\"has-inline-color has-tertiary-color\">Alors mieux vaut ne pas savoir, plut\u00f4t que de vivre dans la peur. Quel est le pire qui puisse arriver ? Que tout cela soit vrai ? Eh bien, y a-t-il quelque chose que je puisse faire ? NON !!! Alors je vis heureuse dans ma petite bulle. \ud83d\ude42<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All this being said, I follow the rules and I abide with the safety protocols. I just wish our leaders would be better and people would use their brains more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-right wp-block-paragraph\"><em><span class=\"has-inline-color has-tertiary-color\">Tout cela \u00e9tant dit, je respecte les r\u00e8gles et je respecte les protocoles de s\u00e9curit\u00e9.
