Surprisingly, our Christmas was really nice. Who would have thought that spending time with my husband and children would be so good? It was different than in previous years, but that doesn’t mean it was worse than before. Just different and good. We enjoyed a nice Christmas eve dinner the 4 of us, watched a movie (The Mask of Zorro with Antonio Banderas) and opened the presents. On Christmas day, we had a raclette followed by a walk in Tai Tam Country Park. The rest of the week, Emilie was out playing with other girls in the residence, Alex was meeting his friends and Sebastien and I just enjoyed each other’s company.

This is a funny one : Emilie was taking a picture of herself and Alex wanted to disturb her. You can see me in the background grabbing Alex to stop him from interfering!

For New Year Eve, Emilie was invited to a friend for diner and Alex stayed with us. He joined us a bit but stayed mainly in his bedroom on his computer. He had a very nice evening.

Alex’s ideal meal: Spinach and camembert lasagna with a hot chocolate in front of a movie!

As for us, we couldn’t go to a restaurant as dining out is forbidden (restaurants close at 6pm), so we ordered a prepared and pre-cooked celebration diner. All the food arrived packed and with instruction to re-heat or prepare. Very easy, very delicious and stress-free:

All this seems a long time ago. January is almost finished. (Online) School has started again. Sebastien is back at work. I’m navigating their timetables, preparing meals and fitting my activities in the middle. No routine. Every day’s different from the previous one. But I’m used to it now. I stopped trying to schedule my week. It wasn’t working. I’m trying something new: I’ve got a short list of my projects in progress and I write how much time I’ve spent working on each each day. At least, it gives me a bit of satisfaction that I am actually doing something. As to the question whether or not I’ll work in Hong Kong, I can say that’s very unlikely I’ll get a paid job in HK. But I’m working, yes. I’m in charge of the second-hand school uniforms (collecting, sorting, selling) and it takes a lot of time. I’ve also started an online course to become massage therapist. I still need to finish my web-designer course.

To finish, I’ve got 3 funny things to show you:

![""]("https://sebetanne.co.uk/hkblog/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/20201224_201439-1024x768.jpg")
