<\/a>I arrived in Lyon at 10.30 am. Laure came to get me and we drove south to the Drome where we met mum and dad. We had a lovely lunch. We left at 4.30 and continued chatting in the car park for another half hour! After that, Laure and I went back to Lyon. Laure had booked a very nice little restaurant for us two. I cherish these moments, because, since we had our kids, it’s very rare that we have so much time together. We chatted A LOT! But at one point, the jetlag got the best of me and I dropped.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Je suis arriv\u00e9e \u00e0 Lyon \u00e0 10h30. Laure est venue me chercher et nous sommes all\u00e9es dans la Dr\u00f4me, o\u00f9 nous avons retrouv\u00e9 papa et maman pour d\u00e9jeuner dans un excellent petit restaurant. Nous avons quitt\u00e9 le restau \u00e0 16h30 et avons continu\u00e9 \u00e0 discuter dans le parking pendant encore une demi-heure ! Apr\u00e8s cela, Laure et moi sommes rentr\u00e9es \u00e0 Lyon. Laure avait r\u00e9serv\u00e9 un bouchon lyonnais pour le diner. Depuis que nous avons eu nos enfants, nous avons eu de tr\u00e8s rares occasions de nous retrouver seules et de papoter comme \u00e7a. Et on a VRAIMENT beaucoup parl\u00e9 ! Mais bon, \u00e0 un moment, le d\u00e9calage horaire a eu raison de moi et je me suis endormie.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n The following day, Thursday 28th, I took a flight back to London. I landed at 12, I got my suitcase and I headed to Victoria Street to meet “Jane’s Awesome Team” (I used to be part of) to celebrate Jane’s birthday. I arrived just as the starters were served. I had such a great time. It was like old times. Being part of my past life. Too soon, it was time to leave. I had a meeting with Thibault to get our mail and to chat a bit with him. I haven’t seen him since May last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Le lendemain, jeudi 28, j’ai pris l’avion pour Londres. J\u2019ai atterri \u00e0 midi, j\u2019ai r\u00e9cup\u00e9r\u00e9 ma valise et hop ! direction Victoria Street pour rentrouver \u00abJane\u2019s Awesome Team\u00bb (dont je faisais partie) pour f\u00eater l\u2019anniversaire de Jane. Je suis arriv\u00e9e au moment des entr\u00e9es. J’ai pass\u00e9 un tr\u00e8s bon moment, j\u2019ai pu discuter avec tout le monde. C’\u00e9tait comme au bon vieux temps. Faire partie de ma vie pass\u00e9e. C\u2019est pass\u00e9 trop vite. Je suis partie vers 16h30 pour retrouver Thibault qui r\u00e9cup\u00e8re notre courrier et discuter un peu avec lui. Je ne l\u2019avais pas revu depuis mai dernier.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n I have to say I was starting to feel a bit nauseous. I attributed this to the alcohol I had drunk at Jane’s birthday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Je commen\u00e7ais \u00e0 avoir un peu la naus\u00e9e. Je pensais que j\u2019avais un peu trop bu \u00e0 l\u2019anniversaire de Jane.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n After leaving Thibault, I went to Catherine and Franco’s where I was staying for the 2 nights. It felt good and strange to be back in Greenwich. I left around 7pm to meet Rebecca at a restaurant near the Greenwich Market. I was still unsettled so I didn’t have anything to drink and ate a little. But still had a good catch up!<\/p>\n\n\n\n Apr\u00e8s avoir quitt\u00e9 Thibault, je suis all\u00e9e chez Catherine et Franco o\u00f9 j\u2019ai pass\u00e9 les 2 nuits. C’\u00e9tait bizarre d’\u00eatre de retour \u00e0 Greenwich, familier et \u00e9tranger en m\u00eame temps. Je suis sortie vers 19 heures pour rentrouver Rebecca dans un restaurant pr\u00e8s du march\u00e9 de Greenwich. J’\u00e9tais toujours barbouill\u00e9e, du coup, je n\u2019ai pas beaucoup mang\u00e9 et je n\u2019ai rien bu. Mais on a bien papoter toutes les deux !<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n I went back home (i.e. at Catherine and Franco’s) and decided on an early night. I was feeling really sick so I got up and that was a good decision. I was sick and I went to bed around 2 am when I was sure everything was going to stay inside. I didn’t have the best of nights because I was a bit feverish. But I was feeling better in the morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n De retour chez Catherine et Franco, j\u2019ai d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de me coucher t\u00f4t. Je ne me sentais vraiment pas bien alors je me suis lev\u00e9e et j\u2019ai bien eu raison. Quand je me suis sentie enfin suffisamment vid\u00e9e pour que rien de plus ne ressorte, il \u00e9tait presque 2 heures du matin. Je n\u2019ai pas pass\u00e9 la meilleure des nuits parce que j\u2019avais un peu de fi\u00e8vre. Mais je me sentais mieux le lendemain matin.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n Friday was busy. I had an appointment to check the house at 10.30. So I left Greenwich around 9 and headed to Brockley to get the keys from the estate agent. I then went to our house. I was not very happy to see 3 of the 4 tenants there. I couldn’t look around freely as I had hoped for. I didn’t see half of what I wanted to see but I saw plenty that I didn’t like. They had broken another few things. I generally found them careless and I wasn’t impress by the way they treated our dear house. But I need to let go of these things because there’s nothing I can do about it. And anyway, it is better to have tenants. At least, the garden looks lovely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Vendredi \u00e9tait bien charg\u00e9. J’avais rendez-vous \u00e0 10h30 pour voir notre maison. J’ai donc quitt\u00e9 Greenwich vers 9 heures et me suis dirig\u00e9e vers Brockley pour r\u00e9cup\u00e9rer les cl\u00e9s chez l’agent immobilier. Je suis ensuite all\u00e9e \u00e0 la maison. Je n’\u00e9tais pas tr\u00e8s contente de voir 3 des 4 locataires. Je n\u2019ai pas pu regarder partout comme je l’avais esp\u00e9r\u00e9. J\u2019ai vu la moiti\u00e9 de ce que je voulais voir mais j\u2019en ai vu suffisamment de choses qui ne me plaisaient pas. Ils avaient cass\u00e9 encore quelques petites choses. Je les ai g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement trouv\u00e9s n\u00e9gligents et je n\u2019\u00e9tais pas impressionn\u00e9e par la fa\u00e7on dont ils traitent notre ch\u00e8re maison. Mais il n\u2019y a pas grand-chose \u00e0 faire de toutes fa\u00e7ons\u2026 Et puis, il vaut mieux avoir des locataires. Au moins, le jardin est magnifique.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n I nearly forgot Sebastien’s ice skates that we stored in the attic. I also took my jar of seashells. I left them there because seashells were forbidden in our move. But I decided I’d take the risk to bring them in my suitcase.
