We’ve been in Singapore a bit more than a week, now. First impressions are good. I was impressed by the clean open streets lined with trees and impeccable buildings. It reminded me a bit of California. The weather has been hot but tolerable. It only rained 3 times! So far, it is much easier than when we first arrived in Hong Kong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nous sommes maintenant \u00e0 Singapour depuis un peu plus d’une semaine. Mes premi\u00e8res impressions sont bonnes. J’ai \u00e9t\u00e9 impressionn\u00e9 par les rue larges et bord\u00e9es d’arbres et de b\u00e2timents impeccables. Cela m’a rappel\u00e9 un peu la Californie. Il fait chaud mais c\u2019est supportable et il n\u2019a plu que 3 fois. Jusqu’\u00e0 pr\u00e9sent, c’est beaucoup plus facile que lorsque nous sommes arriv\u00e9s \u00e0 Hong Kong.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We had a very productive first week, finding a flat, getting around in the MRT (= the underground) and the bus, getting ready for school (finding the uniforms and how to get easily to school), buying SIM cards and visiting a bit. You can check the first picture gallery here<\/a>. So now, I’m taking it easy until the kids go back to school. We have a few more things to do in order to be 100% ready for the start of the school year on Monday. And after that, I’ll focus on myself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Notre premi\u00e8re semaine a \u00e9t\u00e9 tr\u00e8s productive : nous avons trouv\u00e9 un appartement, comment utiliser le MRT (= le m\u00e9tro) et le bus, nous sommes 90% pr\u00eats pour la rentr\u00e9e (uniformes et comment aller \u00e0 l’\u00e9cole), nous avons des num\u00e9ros de t\u00e9l\u00e9phone pour Singapour et nous avons m\u00eame fait un peu de visites. Vous pouvez regarger les premi\u00e8res photos ici<\/a>. Du coup, cette semaine, c\u2019est plus cool. Nous avons encore quelques petites choses \u00e0 faire afin d’\u00eatre pr\u00eats \u00e0 100% pour la rentr\u00e9e de lundi. Et apr\u00e8s \u00e7a, je me concentrerai sur moi.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Something interesting and different from London and Hong Kong: when you are in an escalator and you are not walking up, you need to stay on the LEFT!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Quelque chose d’int\u00e9ressant et de diff\u00e9rent de Londres et de Hong Kong : lorsque vous \u00eates dans un escalator et que vous ne montez pas, vous devez rester \u00e0 GAUCHE !<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also, I found some hairy trees, yes, hairy!! Grass and fern grow on the trunk of trees and that’s very odd-looking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

J’ai aussi trouv\u00e9 des arbres poilus, oui, poilus !! L’herbe et les foug\u00e8res poussent sur le tronc des arbres et \u00e7a fait un look tr\u00e8s particulier !<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
