<\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\nWe followed the walk suggested in my guide book. The city landscape is different from wealthy Central or residential Stanley that we are used to. It is very Chinese and residential with older buildings. We walked through an outside market with the usual dried fish and Asian weird food. Then we went to the Shing Wong temple. The kids: “What! A temple! I hate the smell of incense!”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Nous avons suivi la promenade propos\u00e9e dans mon guide. L\u00e0-bas, le paysage est diff\u00e9rent de celui Central (immeuble avant-gardistes) ou de Stanley (tr\u00e8s r\u00e9sidentiel bien propre) auquel nous sommes habitu\u00e9s. C’est tr\u00e8s chinois et r\u00e9sidentiel avec des b\u00e2timents plus anciens. Nous avons travers\u00e9 un march\u00e9 ext\u00e9rieur avec le poisson s\u00e9ch\u00e9 habituel et la nourriture asiatique \u00e9trange. Puis nous sommes all\u00e9s au temple Shing Wong. Les enfants: ” Quoi ! Un temple ! Je d\u00e9teste l’odeur de l’encens ! “<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n We walked along the main street. I told the children we could eat in any restaurant they like. except for the Mc Donald’s!<\/p>\n\n\n\n Nous avons march\u00e9 le long de la rue principale. J’ai dit aux enfants qu\u2019on pouvait manger dans n\u2019importe quel restaurant qui leur plaisait. Mais pas le Mc Donald\u2019s !<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n And then we went to a Tin Hau temple. Tin Hau is a sea goddess. There are thousands of temples dedicated to her in Hong Kong. The kids: “Oh No! Not another temple!” – Me: “The guide says that 2 cats live in the temple.” – The kids: “That’s cool! Let’s see the cats!”<\/p>\n\n\n\n Et puis nous sommes all\u00e9s dans un temple de Tin Hau. Tin Hau est une d\u00e9esse de la mer. Il y a des centaines de temples qui luis sont d\u00e9di\u00e9s \u00e0 Hong Kong. Les enfants: ” Oh non ! Pas un autre temple ! ” – Moi : ” Le guide dit qu\u2019il y a 2 chats qui vivent dans le temple. ” – Les enfants : ” C\u2019est cool ! Allons voir les chats ! “<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n Unfortunately, they didn’t find the cats. And their good will was getting very thin as well. But I plough on… to a third temple! Tam Kung temple is also devoted to a sea deity. The kids: “You must be kidding me! Another temple! I’m not going in! I don’t care if it rains, I’m staying outside!”<\/p>\n\n\n\n Malheureusement, ils n\u2019ont pas trouv\u00e9 les chats. Et leur seuil de tol\u00e9rance devenait aussi tr\u00e8s bas. Mais \u00e7a ne m\u2019a pas arr\u00eat\u00e9e, et nous sommes all\u00e9s\u2026 dans un troisi\u00e8me temple ! Le temple Tam Kung est \u00e9galement consacr\u00e9 \u00e0 une divinit\u00e9 de la mer. Les enfants : ” Tu te moques de moi ! Encore un temple ! Je n\u2019y vais pas ! Je me fiche de la pluie, je reste dehors ! “<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n The last leg of the walk was to visit the museum of coastal defence. Luckily for the children, it is now closed until 2020. So they were spared another boring visit! We did walk up to the door of the museum and, on the way, we saw a kind of dock and a row of garages. The smell reminded me of my childhood with my grand father always fixing cars!<\/p>\n\n\n\n La derni\u00e8re \u00e9tape de la marche \u00e9tait la visite du mus\u00e9e de la d\u00e9fense c\u00f4ti\u00e8re. Heureusement pour les enfants, il est maintenant ferm\u00e9 jusqu’en 2020. Ils ont donc \u00e9vit\u00e9 une autre visite ennuyeuse ! Nous avons quand m\u00eame march\u00e9 jusqu’\u00e0 la porte du mus\u00e9e. Sur la route, nous sommes pass\u00e9s devant une rang\u00e9e de garages. L’odeur famili\u00e8re de l\u2019huile de moteur m’a rappel\u00e9 mon enfance et mon grand-p\u00e8re m\u00e9canicien !<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n By this point, it was seriously raining. So we hurried back to the bus stop, only to realise the next bus was half an hour away! Disgruntled children: “Now what? I don’t want to wait in the rain for 30 minutes!” – Me: “Where do you want to eat: in Central, somewhere like the Creperie? In Pizza Express in Stanley? Or at home?” – Less disgruntled children: “Pizza Express!”<\/p>\n\n\n\n Comme il pleuvait beaucoup, nous nous sommes d\u00e9p\u00each\u00e9s de revenir \u00e0 l’arr\u00eat de bus. Malheureusement, il fallait attendre une demi-heure pour le bus ! Les enfants tr\u00e8s m\u00e9contents: ” Et puis quoi, maintenant ? Je ne veux pas attendre sous la pluie pendant une demi-heure ! ” – Moi : ” O\u00f9 voulez-vous manger : \u00e0 Central, quelque part comme la Cr\u00eaperie ? \u00c0 Pizza Express \u00e0 Stanley ? Ou \u00e0 la maison ? ” – Les enfants un peu moins m\u00e9contents : ” Pizza Express ! “<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n Ok, so we hopped in a taxi and we had lunch in Pizza Express under the rain \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n\n\n\n Ok, nous avons saut\u00e9 dans un taxi et nous avons d\u00e9jeun\u00e9 \u00e0 Pizza Express sous la pluie \ud83d\ude42<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Shau Kei Wan is an area on the north west of Hong Kong island (as per map below).
