Emilie started a new Parkour class. I thought the lesson was an hour, but it turned out it was two hours. So I had plenty of time to walk around the area. I had a look around one of the main streets of Little India area. There are lots of Indians in Singapore and this area has a completely different feel from the rest of what I saw so far.
Emilie a commencé un nouveau cours de Parkour. Je pensais que la leçon durait une heure, mais en fait c’était deux heures. J’ai donc eu beaucoup de temps pour me promener dans le coin. Je me suis baladé dans l’une des rues principales du quartier de Little India. Il y a beaucoup d’Indiens à Singapour et ce quartier a une ambiance complètement différente du reste de la ville que j’ai vue jusqu’à présent.
This really nice looking row of shophouses was in Petain rd. I spotted a few roads with a French name (Clemenceau, Foch, for example), but you will never see a Petain road in France. We would prefer forget the French president when Germany had annexed France, especially when he was a bit too close to the Nazi ideas.
Cette très jolie rangée de shophouses se trouve dans la rue Pétain. J’ai repéré quelques rues avec des noms français (Clémenceau ou Foch, par exemple), mais vous ne verrez jamais une rue Pétain en France. On préfère oublier le président français collabo qui a fait déporter nombre de juifs quand la France était occupée.
After a refreshing drink, I continued my exploration and it was fascinating. I will be back to see more!

And also a few funny pictures. The first on is an advert I saw on a wall. I’ve no idea what it is for but it made me smile! On the second one, you can see an interesting looking vehicle. When I went closer I realised it was a hearse. What a bright way to be sent off!
Et aussi quelques images amusantes. La première est une publicité vue sur un mur. Je ne sais pas ce qui est écrit mais ça m’a fait sourire ! Sur la seconde, vous pouvez voir un véhicule intéressant. Quand je me suis approchée, j’ai réalisé que c’était un corbillard. Quelle façon brillante de finir son trajet sur Terre !
