St Stephen’s is in Stanley, not too far from where we lived. My Italian teacher went there a few months ago and told me how beautiful it was. So I wanted to see with my own eyes. What a beautiful place to rest! With the view to the sea! It is an old cemetery not much in use anymore. It was sad to see so many children’s graves. Interestingly, there where different religions and nationalities side by side as it is a military cemetery last used in the 40’s during the Japanese occupation of Hong Kong.
Le cimetière de St Stephen est à Stanley, pas trop loin de chez nous. Ma prof d’italien y est allée il y a quelques mois et m’a dit à quel point c’était beau. Alors je voulais voir de mes propres yeux. Quel bel endroit ! Avec la vue sur la mer ! Ce cimetière est vieux. Les tombes datent du début du 20e siècle. C’était triste de voir tant de tombes d’enfants. Fait intéressant, il y a différentes religions et nationalités côte à côte parce que c’est un cimetière militaire utilisé pour la dernière fois dans les années 40 pendant l’occupation japonaise de Hong Kong.
