Sébastien and I escaped home yesterday and went on a walk to discover a part of Hong Kong island I didn’t know. We took the bus to Admiralty and started our walk in Tamar Park. The government buildings are in Tamar Park.
Hier, Sébastien et moi nous sommes échappés de la maison et avons fait une promenade pour découvrir une partie de l’île de Hong Kong que je ne connaissais pas. Nous avons pris le bus pour Admiralty et avons commencé notre promenade à Tamar Park, là où se trouvent les bâtiments gouvernementaux.
Tamar Park on a Sunday afternoon / Tamar Park un dimanche après-midi
Sundays are the helpers day off. They gather together to celebrate the little free time they have. Despite the social distancing rules, the park was packed.
Le dimanches toutes les bonnes sont en congé. Elles se réunissent pour célébrer le peu de temps libre dont elles disposent. Malgré les règles de distanciation sociale, le parc était bondé.
From the park, we took right and followed the waterfront. The weather was gorgeous, warm with a nice breeze. And the view delivered as well!
Du parc, nous avons pris à droite et avons suivi le front de mer. Le temps était magnifique, chaud avec une brise légère. Et la vue magnifique !

On the waterfront, there were several miniature boxes displaying Hong Kong rooms throughout the 20th century.
Sur le front de mer, il y avait plusieurs boîtes miniatures montrant des pièces de Hong Kong au cours du 20e siècle.
Halloween is just around the corner and there were funny sculptures along the path.
Halloween approche à grands pas et il y avait des sculptures amusantes sur ce thème le long du chemin.
We continued walking towards the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. That’s the building with a roof like a wave. They installed statues of comic characters in the square in front of the exhibition centre. It’s very cute! I could have stayed there all afternoon and I had to refrain myself from taking a picture of all of them. I just got a sample.
Nous avons continué à marcher vers le centre de convention et d’exposition de Hong Kong. C’est le bâtiment avec un toit comme une vague. Des statues de personnages de bandes dessinées ont été installées sur l’esplanade. C’est très mignon ! J’aurais pu y rester toute l’après-midi et j’ai dû me retenir de toutes les photographier. Je vous en livre un échantillon.

The symbol of Hong Kong is the bauhinia flower. We reached Golden Bauhinia Square on the other side of the exhibition centre. The statue is a bit of a let-down, but I wanted to see it anyway. Now it’s done!
Le symbole de Hong Kong est la fleur de bauhinia. Nous avons atteint la place Golden Bauhinia de l’autre côté du parc des expositions. La statue est un peu décevante, mais je voulais quand même la voir. Maintenant c’est fait !
After that, the waterfront path stops so we walked to Causeway Bay and got a coffee before heading back home. That was a nice way to spend a Sunday afternoon 🙂
Après cela, le chemin du front de mer s’arrête, nous avons marché jusqu’à Causeway Bay et pris un café avant de rentrer à la maison. C’était une manière agréable de passer un dimanche après-midi 🙂
