On the 2nd of October, I went to town to get my Hong Kong ID, the only official document you need in Hong Kong. And as it was very efficient, I had plenty of time to stroll along the streets and explore a bit more of the city. I walked along Lockhart road going east and I snapped a few interesting views (well interesting for me!)
Le 2 octobre, je suis allée en ville récupérer ma carte d’identité de Hong Kong, le seul document officiel qui est nécessaire à Hong Kong. Et comme le service était très efficace, j’ai eu amplement le temps de flâner dans les rues et d’explorer un peu plus la ville. Tout en marchant le long de Lockhart road en direction de l’est, j’ai pris quelques points de vue intéressants (enfin, intéressant pour moi!)
This windows shop actually displays their samples on the wall, which makes the building look funny! / Cette boutique qui vend des fenêtres a mis des exemples de produits sur le mur, ce qui donne un côté comique au building.
Everywhere, buildings are painted and for most of the older ones, the pipes are all out! / Partout, les immeubles sont paints et, surtout pour les plus vieux, les tuyaux sont à l’extérieur.
Seen in the window of a shop selling bathroom items, this Japanese bath was lovely presented. / J’ai vu cette baignoire japonaise dans une vitrine et je l’ai trouvée très joliment présentée.
The following pictures show all the shops that can be found in a building. Here most of the shops are not on the ground floor, and this is the only way to tell where to go. / Les photos suivantes montrent les boutiques que l’on peut trouver dans un immeuble. Ici, la plupart des boutiques n’ont pas pignon sur rue et ceci est la seule manière de savoir où trouver les boutiques.
During this nice walk, I bumped into Sarah, my new friend. That was completely unexpected in such a big place! I then went to meet Sebastien near his work. After a little hot chocolate, I walked west, this time and went to see the Central Government Offices.
Au cours de cette promenade, je suis tombée sur Sarah, ma nouvelle amie. C’était complètement inattendu dans une ville si grande ! Je suis ensuite allée voir Sébastien près de son travail. Après un petit chocolat chaud, j’ai marché vers l’ouest cette fois-ci, et je suis allée voir les bureaux du gouvernement central.

The Hong Kong’s Houses of Parliament. Note that the Chinese flag is always higher than the Hong Kong flag. / L’equivalent hongkongais de l’Assemblée Nationale. Notez que le drapeau chinois est toujours placé plus haut que le drapeau de Hong Kong.
