9th August is Emilie’s birthday but it’s also Singapore Independence day. It was also our second day in Singapore so we took the underground (called MRT) to Raffles Place and walked around to see what the “centre” of Singapore looked like.
Le 9 août est l’anniversaire d’Emilie, mais c’est aussi la fête nationale de Singapour. Comme c’était notre deuxième jour à Singapour, nous avons pris le métro (appelé MRT) jusqu’à Raffles Place pour explorer le « centre » de Singapour.
In preparation for the national day parade later in the day, streets were cordoned off. There was no car but a lot of people wearing red and white (like the Singapore flag!)
En préparation du défilé de la fête nationale un peu plus tard dans la journée, les rues étaient interdites à la circulation. Il n’y avait donc pas de voiture mais beaucoup de gens habillés en rouge et blanc (comme le drapeau de Singapour !)
There was a definite London vibe!
On se serait crus à Londres !
