It was Emilie’s birthday. She was super excited! She had been talking about her birthday for months!
Le 9, c’était l’anniversaire d’Emilie. Elle était super excitée ! Elle en parlait depuis des mois !
Emilie and I went to get a cake for her big day. I saw a bakery down the road so we went there together. The choice was very poor, but Emilie found a black forest gateau. We also bought ice cream for Alex as he could not have any of the cake.
Emilie et moi sommes allées chercher un gâteau pour l’occasion. J’avais repéré une boulangerie en bas de la rue, alors nous y sommes allées ensemble. Le choix était pauvre, mais Emilie a trouvé une forêt noire. Nous avons également acheté de la glace pour Alex car il ne pouvait pas avoir de gâteau.
When we came back home, the cleaning ladies were in the flat. Emilie was so excited, she told them it was her birthday today. In the afternoon, one of the cleaning ladies knocked on the door and gave Emilie a small present. Emilie was so happy and surprised! It’s a Tsum Tsum, a small plastic box with a drawer to put your trinkets. Emilie loved it!
À notre retour, les femmes de ménage étaient dans l’appartement. Emilie était tellement contente qu’elle leur a dit que c’était son anniversaire aujourd’hui. Dans l’après-midi, l’une des femmes de ménage a frappé à la porte et a donné un petit cadeau à Emilie. Emilie était si heureuse et surprise! C’est un Tsum Tsum, une petite boîte en plastique avec un tiroir pour mettre ses petits bijoux. Emilie a adoré!
We had planned to have lunch with Sebastien. There are loads of places to eat downstairs from where he works. We were supposed to meet at 12.15. We left a bit later than I wanted and we could not find a taxi. We started walking there but it was no good. We had to cancel. We were all disappointed so we went to have lunch … in Mac Donalds 🙂 That was a good lunch for the birthday girl!
Nous avions prévu de déjeuner avec Sébastien. Il y a des tas d’endroits où manger en bas de son travail. Nous devions nous retrouver à 12h15. Nous sommes partis un peu plus tard que je ne le voulais et nous n’avons pas pu trouver de taxi. Nous avons commencé à marcher mais ça prenait trop de temps. Nous avons dû annuler. Nous étions tous déçus alors nous sommes allés déjeuner … au Mac Donalds 🙂 C’était un bon déjeuner pour un anniversaire !
It was very hot and stuffy and we didn’t want to go out in the afternoon. So we just went to the hairdresser for Alex. We didn’t know where to go so we wandered in the streets until we found a place that didn’t look too Chinese. The guy who cut Alex’s hair was difficult to understand, but he was very nice and Alex looked good with his new haircut.
Il faisait chaud et étouffant et nous ne voulions pas sortir l’après-midi. Nous sommes donc allés chez le coiffeur pour Alex. Nous ne savions pas où aller alors nous nous sommes promenés dans les rues jusqu’à ce que nous trouvions un endroit qui n’avait pas l’air trop chinois. Le gars qui a coupé les cheveux d’Alex était difficile à comprendre, mais il était très gentil et Alex avait l’air bien avec sa nouvelle coupe de cheveux.
Sebastien came home early so we had a nice birthday diner. Emilie loved her cake and both enjoyed their presents. A few more things to entertain them!
Sébastien est rentré tôt et nous avons passé un bon dîner d’anniversaire. Emilie a aimé son gâteau et Alex et Emilie ont apprécié leurs cadeaux. Quelques trucs de plus pour les divertir !
