First night … Not too bad for 3 of us, horrible for poor Sebastien 🙁 We all went to bed early, around 10 pm. Alex came in our bedroom around 1 am, complaining about not being able to breathe. He swapped with Sebastien. Emilie woke up 3 times during the night, waking Sebastien up each time. Apart from Sebastien who had to go to work, we all slept very late on Monday, until around 11 am.
Première nuit … Pas trop mal pour trois d’entre nous, horrible pour le pauvre Sébastien 🙁 Nous sommes tous allés nous coucher tôt, vers 22 heures. Alex est venu dans notre chambre vers 1 heure du matin, se plaignant de ne pas pouvoir respirer. Il a changé de place avec Sébastien. Emilie s’est réveillée 3 fois pendant la nuit, réveillant Sébastien à chaque fois. A part Sébastien qui a dû aller au travail, nous avons tous dormi très tard jusqu’à environ 11 heures du matin.
My first task was to find a clothes drying rack. I had some very vague directions to find a supermarket supposedly big enough to have this item. I didn’t find it on my first tentative, but I found the HSBC branch. So not a complete waste of time. I received the address and looked on Google Map where it was and I found the supermarket. Alas, there was no drying rack. thank god for Ikea, where you can find everything (Sebastien got one from Ikea after work).
Ma première tâche consistait à trouver un étendoir à linge. J’avais des instructions très vagues pour trouver un supermarché soi-disant assez grand pour avoir cet article. Je ne l’ai pas trouvé lors de ma première tentative, mais j’ai trouvé la succursale HSBC. Donc, pas une complète perte de temps. Sébastien m’a envoyé l’adresse complète, j’ai regardé sur Google Map où c’était et j’ai trouvé le supermarché. Hélas, il n’y avait pas d’étendoir à linge. Mais heureusement, il y a Ikea où l’on peut tout trouver (Sébastien y a trouvé un séchoir à linge après le travail).
In the afternoon, we went on a walk to Victoria Park. More to see our new environment than anything else. We got lost on the way there and back, so instead of an hour walk, we were out 3 hours. The weather is the most difficult thing to get used to. It’s hot and humid. And it was very sunny on Monday.
Dans l’après-midi, nous avons fait une promenade au parc Victoria. C’était plus pour voir notre nouvel environnement. Nous nous sommes perdus en chemin et au lieu d’une heure de marche, nous sommes sortis 3 heures. Le plus difficile, c’est la météo. C’est dur de s’y habituer. Il fait chaud et humide. Et c’était très ensoleillé lundi.
Part of our daily routine is to go for an hour / an hour and a half to the swimming pool downstairs. It’s an outside pool and it’s the best place to be in this weather. As it is mostly deserted, it is ideal with boisterous children!
En fin d’après-midi, nous sommes allés à la piscine. La piscine est en extérieur et c’est très agréable par ce temps-là ! Nous y restons une heure / une heure et demie. Et comme il n’y a presque personne, c’est idéal, surtout avec des enfants turbulents !
